A 5k race in Naples, FL and other random stuff we did in Florida

So we are back in Florida and decided to run the 5k race in the beautiful Delnor-Wiggins park. It was the first time this race was held and the organizers did a great job!

It started at 7am and it was only a 10 minute walk from our place. It was still dark when we set out. By the time we started the sun was rising on the horizon.

It was a beautiful course through the park with about 400m on the sand – that was pretty hard. I made it to the overall female 3rd place with 23:05 minutes and Kai made 3rd overall male with 21:55! We really enjoyed ourselves.

By 7.30am, we were done and walked home along the beach. It was wonderful.

Other random stuff that was going on during our stay:

Beach parties with our neighbours:

Bike rides to Marco Island (105km) and Ft Myers (59km):

A visit to downtown Naples including Farmer’s Market:

A visit to the Thomas Edison Museum in Ft Myers:

Lots of exercise and a bit of beach time:

And a beautiful boat ride:

Once again, Naples was a great place to be!
